50 Pinterest Tips Justin Timberlake Doesn’t Know

Pinterest is a fun, visual social media site. It’s a great place to share and find the stuff that interests you. Businesses can take

the advantage of using Pinterest’s huge following to build traffic and relationships to their own brand.

Here are 50 tips to help you start marketing with Pinterest.

  1. Include a price tag in the pins you create or repin because Pinterest users are looking to buy.

  2. Give something away in your Pinterest pin. It could be a new tool, a template or an app.

  3. Want your current subscribers to know what you’re pinning? Include a screenshot of your Pinterest pin in your newsletter.

  4. Install a “Pin it” plugin or widget button on your website. A “Pin it” button can increase referral traffic back to your site.

  5. Create your Pinterest for  Business account and fully fill out your profile with your brand name and website URL.

  6. Be consistent. Pin or repin to your Pinterest boards every day. Keep your pins fresh.

  7. Share interesting content on Pinterest. This is the fastest way to gain a following and build traffic.

  8. Run a contest on Pinterest. Or better yet, run a contest on your blog and share it with your pinners in a specific board.

  9. Having trouble getting creative with your pins? Check out what others are pinning on their boards.

  10. Take advantage of the most popular categories when creating your Pinterest marketing strategy.

  11. The most pinned categories on Pinterest include Food & Drink, DIY & Crafts, Home Décor, and Holidays & Events.

  12. Sort your pinboards by category, theme or interest. Make sure to have a mix of brand products and curated products.

  13. Create a fan-curated board by asking your fans and followers to add some of their content to your board.

  14. Embed one of your Pinterest boards onto your website so that readers can see and share what you are pinning.

  15. Follow interesting or influential people in your niche and leave comments on some of their pins.

  16. Use the Rich pins plugin to make it easier for your customers to find more information, like ingredients from a food image.

  17. Focus on very specific boards about a single topic when adding pins.

  18. Make each pin serve a specific purpose and be visually interesting.

  19. Keep your Pinterest boards organized. Create multiple boards for each category you will be adding pins to.

  20. Collaborate with other pinners to grow followers and curate pins.

  21. A compelling Pin description can help you get found by people searching for certain things.

  22. Add the Pinterest Bookmarklet to your browser and use it to add a post to one of your boards.

  23. Create a teaser image for one of your Pins. A teaser pin is a simple image with a teaser headline that intrigues your viewers.

  24. Include a call to action (CTA) in the caption area of your image or other content. Link to a landing page or product.

  25. Create a Pinterest board specifically for your blog articles so followers can easily find your blog posts.

  26. Before you post a single image or create a board on Pinterest, decide what you are going to focus on this year.

  27. Traffic is generated to your website when people use the Pinterest Search tool. Make sure your description is relevant.

  28. Include clickable URLs in your Pinterest pin’s description to drive traffic to your website.

  29. Build relationships. Pinterest is great for building a community of people that are excited about your brand.

  30. Pinterest isn’t just for women. Men are using the site more than ever as a guide for what interests them.

  31. Use color wisely in your pin images. Multiple dominant colors are pinned more often than a single color image.

  32. Red images are better for repins than blue.

  33. Pay attention to your Pinterest analytics to know what your audience wants and which pins are working best.

  34. Engage with your followers by following them and commenting on their pins.

  35. Pin good, original and relevant content that your followers can use. They are more likely to repin good content.

  36. Create a schedule to pin consistently, preferably daily. (see autopilot in the postscript)

  37. The ideal length of characters for repinning is between 200 and 300.

  38. You might be surprised you can Pin video and audio instead of just images. Great news for podcasters.

  39.  Engage with your followers on Pinterest by repinning relevant images from industry leaders.

  40. Every image you pin needs a name, a title and a description. If it’s your image it needs a link to your website.

  41. Share your Pinterest pins and boards on Twitter and Facebook for more social love.

  42. Have a pinnable image on every post you publish on your blog to make it easy for others to pin your content.

  43. Make it easy for others to pin from your blog with the Pinterest Pin it button.

  44. Build your authority on your topic by filling your boards with relevant content.

  45. Engage with other pinners by commenting on their pins you find interesting.

  46. Create images and content that engages and inspires your followers. These are more likely to get shared.

  47. Create a viral graphic at least once a week to pin on Pinterest. This can be as simple as an image with a quote.

  48. There are two places on each pin to add a link to your landing page, in the description and in the source for the pin.

  49. Use a Pinterest for a business account. It gives you the benefit of analytics and Rich Pins.

  50. Create specialty boards. For instance, have a tips board that only has tips or a board for seasonal pins.

The Dirty Dozen are Looking For You

As we move into the 2016 Income Tax Season, scammers are moving into full swing to see what they can siphon off by hook or crook.  Team Legacy provides these reprints from its feed of the IRS Tax Tips and  passes them  along in hopes that its readers will not fall prey to these criminals.

Here is the latest from Issue SETT 2016-03.

Each year, people fall prey to tax scams. That’s why the IRS sends a list of its annual “Dirty Dozen.” Stay safe and be informed – don’t become a victim.

If you get involved in illegal tax scams, you can lose money or face stiff penalties, interest, and even criminal prosecution. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Be on the lookout for these scams:

Identity theft.Identity theft, especially around tax time, is at the top of the “Dirty Dozen” list again this year. The IRS continues to aggressively pursue criminals who file fraudulent returns using someone else’s Social Security number. The IRS is making progress on this front. Remain vigilant to avoid becoming a victim.

Telephone scams. Threatening phone calls by criminals impersonating IRS agents remain an ongoing threat. The IRS has seen a surge of these phone scams in recent years as scam artists threaten taxpayers with police arrest, deportation, license revocation and more. These con artists often demand payment of back taxes on a prepaid debit card or by immediate wire transfer. Be alert to con artists impersonating IRS agents and demanding payment.

Phishing. Phishing scams typically use unsolicited emails or fake websites that appear legitimate but are attempting to steal your personal information. The IRS will not send you an email about a bill or tax refund out of the blue. Don’t click on strange emails and websites that may be scams to steal your personal information.

Return Preparer Fraud.
About 60 percent of taxpayers use tax professionals to prepare their returns. While most tax professionals provide honest, high-quality service, there are some dishonest ones who set up shop each filing season to perpetrate refund fraud, identity theft and other scams. Be on the lookout for unscrupulous tax return preparers. Choose your preparer wisely.  Here at Team Legacy, we recommend Elevation Tax for your FREE Tax Consultation.

Offshore Tax Avoidance.
Hiding money and income offshore is a bad bet. If you have money in offshore banks, it’s best to contact the IRS to get your taxes in order.

The IRS offers the Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Program to help you do that.

Inflated Refund Claims.
Be on the lookout for anyone promising inflated tax refunds. Also be wary of anyone who asks you to sign a blank return, promises a big refund before looking at your tax records or charges fees based on a percentage of the refund. Scam artists use flyers, advertisements, phony store fronts and word of mouth via trusted community groups to find victims.

Fake Charities.
Be on guard against groups masquerading as charitable organizations to attract donations from unsuspecting contributors. If you are making a charitable contribution, you should take a few extra minutes to ensure your hard-earned money goes to legitimate and currently eligible charities. IRS.gov has the tools you need to check out the status of charitable organizations. Be wary of charities with names that are similar to familiar or nationally known organizations.

Falsely Padding Deductions on Returns.
Don’t give in to the temptation to inflate deductions or expenses on your tax return. Think twice before overstating deductions such as charitable contributions, inflating claimed business expenses or including credits that you are not entitled to receive, such as the Earned Income Tax Credit or Child Tax Credit. Complete an accurate return.

Excessive Claims for Business Credits.
Don’t make improper claims for fuel tax credits. The credit is generally limited to off-highway business use, including use in farming. It is generally not available to most taxpayers. Also, avoid misuse of the research credit. If it doesn’t apply to your business and you don’t meet the criteria, don’t make the claim.

Falsifying Income to Claim Credits.
Don’t invent income to erroneously claim tax credits. A scam artist may try to talk you into doing this. You should file the most accurate tax return possible because you are legally responsible for what is on your return. Falling prey to this scam may mean you have to pay back taxes, interest, and penalties. In some cases, you may even face criminal prosecution.

Abusive Tax Shelters.
Avoid using abusive tax structures to avoid paying taxes. The IRS is committed to stopping complex tax avoidance schemes and the people who create and sell them. Be on the lookout for people peddling tax shelters that sound too good to be true. When in doubt, seek an independent opinion regarding these complex situations or offers. Most taxpayers pay their fair share, and so should you.

Frivolous Tax Arguments.
Using frivolous tax arguments to avoid paying taxes can have serious financial consequences. Promoters of frivolous schemes encourage taxpayers to make unreasonable and outlandish claims to avoid paying taxes. The law is crystal clear that people must pay their taxes. For decades, the federal courts have consistently upheld the tax laws. The penalty for filing a frivolous tax return is $5,000.

Tax scams can take many forms beyond the “Dirty Dozen.” The best defense is to remain alert. Additional information about tax scams is available on IRS social media sites, including YouTube and Tumblr , where people can search “scam” to find all the scam-related posts.

How Pyramid Schemes Could Help You Win The Game of Thrones

You find a new online venture and get really excited. You do your research, find that the company is established, has great testimonials, a great suite of products, and an amazing compensation plan.

You get started building your sales organization, start recruiting  new members, and are well on your way bringing in that extra money you wanted. You are feeling good!

Saturday evening you attend a cocktail party with your wife and your friends ask where you have been keeping yourself.

You explain that you have found a great online company that you have joined and have been studying to get it set up during the evenings and on weekends.

You explain that the outlook looks promising because their compensation plan is great. And given enough time and effort, this looks like the plan that could allow for the financial freedom to quit your 9 to 5 and work for yourself from home.

You begin explaining that it is a multi-level marketing plan, and the reaction is instantaneous.

“Oh, I see, it’s one of those pyramid schemes”, your friend remarks. “Be careful, you know those things are illegal”.  “Felix, I thought you had more sense”.

Now you don’t feel so good… no one likes the ridicule of their “friends”.

Education is a wonderful thing because it liberates us from the ignorance that often times forms public opinion.

In the Game of Thrones,  the only weapon that Tyrion Lannister (played by Peter Dinklage) has is his intellect. Due to his “Halfman” size, he relies heavily on his education and cunning mind.

And because of his knowledge, I predict that Tyrion will greatly impact the outcome of who finally sits on the Iron Throne to rule the 7 kingdoms and wins the Game of Thrones.

And so it should be with you. To win the Game of Thrones and obtain your financial freedom, you only need to be firm in your purpose. And one of the ways to obtain a firm purpose is to shun the ignorance of public opinion through education.
In other words, Know what you are doing.
In the following videos, Lou Abbot, MLM-thewholetruth.com, clearly explains the difference between an Illegal Pyramid Scheme and a Legal MLM.

Part 1.

Part 2.

Work at Home Moms are Lamer than James Franco

Oops! That should be “La Mer” , the Neiman Marcus 2016 Beauty Award Winner ($620. 1.0 oz.)

***If you sign up and use Ebates, you can get 8% cash back.***

pablo (46) At $620 an ounce,  I think you’ll agree that La Mer  is kind of special, right? So are work-at-home moms!  😀

But working at home is not a vacation, it requires discipline. In this article, we address the effort needed to establish ground rules for working at home. And for those who are just getting started, some activities to avoid and rules to review a new venture. Enjoy!

Setting the Tone

Staying at home with your little ones rather than packing them off to daycare and rushing to a job out in the brick-and-mortar world five days a week sounds like a dream come true, doesn’t it?

Your kids would benefit from your presence in their lives, and the whole “make a living” thing would be so much easier if you could accomplish it from home!

Just think — no dressing up, no putting on makeup, no fighting rush hour traffic twice a day — what is there about being a stay-at-home mom and working online that isn’t to like?

Actually, there’s nothing not to like after you once get yourself, your kids, your hubby, your mom, and your girlfriends convinced that you do actually HAVE a job even if you don’t get dressed and leave home. It’s a funny thing, but it’s true.

Everybody (including YOU) will assume that your time is your own at first.

When the kids want your attention, you’ll give it to them. When your mom asks you to run an errand for her, you will. When your girlfriends call you on the phone, you’ll talk for an hour.

And while you are showering your kids with attention, making your mom happy, and catching up on all the latest gossip, you aren’t getting the work done whether you are an entrepreneur or have contracted out your services.

Being a stay-at-home mom with any kind of job requires, as previously mentioned, self-discipline as well as a set of do-not-disturb-during-working-hours rules that apply to your kids, your mom, your hubby, and your girlfriends.

Remember, even if you are working from home, you are still working.

It takes time and some serious effort to convince yourself and all of the other people in your world that you really DO have a job and that you are just as obligated to that job as you would be if you were working in an office in the city. But once you do, the rewards and benefits can be immense!

So the world of work-at-home appeals to you either by choice or by necessity.

The question now is what type of work is out there?

Basically, there are only two ways to go: Contracting services(working for someone) or working for yourself.

Home Office

Avoiding the Work-at-Home Tricksters

The world is full of scam artists trying to make a buck by hook or by crook in both categories of employment.

The fact that you work hard for your money or the fact that you have very little to spare and desperately need to get your own online business or online activity making money for you won’t matter a bit to these jerks.

So you have to know what to look for to avoid letting these tricksters rip you off.

One “job” that is advertised online is envelope stuffing. There are not jobs for envelope stuffers.

Machines stuff envelopes today.

They also generate mailing labels. If you were to apply for an envelope-stuffing job, the first item that you’d be required to do is “buy” some equipment or a mailing list or something else.

The only profit to be had from envelope stuffing is by the advertiser, and he’s making his profit by selling useless “stuff” to you and others.

Another scam that is common on the Internet is home assembly.

According to the advertisements, all you have to do to make a ton of money is to assemble some simple little craft items at home. You just mail them in and you’ll get a check by return mail. I’m not saying that every single home assembly job offer is a scam.

There may be a legit one out there. But if you are told that you must BUY the pieces to assemble, RUN!

The business doesn’t sell assembled products. The business sells pieces to people who want a job. You will never get paid. Your products won’t “pass inspection” even if they’re perfect.

There are many, many more scams out there just waiting to take your money. So let me give you some quick rules of thumb:

a. research the product or the job thoroughly – know what you are getting into- research online and talk with others who use the product- review current  testimonials-ask yourself if the company is well-established.

b. look for low-cost or FREE trial periods that allow you to “test” the product  before a large commitment

c. check the company’s refund policy and READ its disclaimer statement

d. read and understand the company’s income disclosure

e. beware of get-rich-quick claims – all businesses require substantial work

f. don’t invest money you cannot afford to lose

Remember, the idea of working from home is for somebody to send money TO you; it isn’t for you to send money to someone else. If an online job requires any kind of large financial investment from you without substantial product, the odds are that it’s a scam.

For those who follow this blog, you know that I am a work-at-homer and have several businesses that I promote but my major income source is the Empower Network  opportunity.

I joined Empower for the money (largest commissions ever) and have stayed for the community and comradery that the Empower family generates.

I established Team Legacy with the Network to “pay-it-forward” and assist those who want to work, get started on their road to financial freedom. Those who join the team can look forward to continued support as my success is dependent upon those I help.

In Empower, we have numerous work-at-home moms sharing their story and doing quite well. I invite you to take a look-see at our product and let me know if you have any questions.

5 Reasons the Amish Were Right about This Product Review of Traffic Travis

Two years ago, I had a small portfolio of niche websites. I decided to do SEO on the sites to get more traffic. It worked, and it made money. But I made a huge mistake and bought hundreds of spammy backlinks.

My websites were penalized by Google.

Sad and confused, I gave up on SEO. That was until I stumbled on Traffic Travis, an SEO and PPC software suite that I saw this Amish fellow using on one of my trips to Lancaster, PA.

He let me look over his shoulder while he used it. It looked good, and I figured I had nothing to lose with the Free version. I have since upgraded and not looked back since!

Traffic Travis has revolutionized my SEO strategy by making it effortless to find high-quality, relevant backlinks. I can find profitable keywords easily, and it makes on-site optimization simple, too.

Take a few minutes and watch this short video for an overview.

Looks good doesn’t it? But before you get it, there are some things you should know first, so keep reading for the lessons I learned from the Amish.

Want to Beat Your Competition? Use Traffic Travis

I used to be confused as to why my competitors ranked better than me. I didn’t know where they got their backlinks from, so I spent weeks trying to find amazing, relevant backlinks. It didn’t work.

Then I learned the secret to SEO: if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em. Traffic Travis lets you spy on your competitors, and figure out what their backlinks are. You can then go and take those backlinks for yourself! When I learned this, SEO suddenly made sense.

Uncover the Reasons WHY Your Website Isn’t Ranking

You might be thinking this now: if I simply copy the backlinks my competitors have, how will I get an edge and rise up above them in Google? That is a good question, and I’ll tell you how: on-site optimization!

Traffic Travis will do an SEO website audit and tell you what fixes you need to make. One of my websites got a “C” ranking initially, and after fixing all of the problems it had, it got an “A+” ranking with Traffic Travis!

Don’t Know Which Keywords to Target?

Have you ever noticed that some keywords seem easier to rank for than others? That is because some are harder than others. If you pick an easy keyword, you can rank quickly, and make money faster.

If you pick a hard keyword, it could take you months before you see a return. Don’t know how to pick them? Then pick up Traffic Travis.

It has a keyword research tool that tells you how easy a keyword is before you invest months of time/money into ranking for it. The included rank-tracking software makes it easy to monitor your rankings for each keyword too.

Be Warned: the Free Version Has Limitations

Traffic Travis has two versions: the free version and the professional version.

The free version has several limitations.

The free version only lets you see 100 of your competitors’ backlinks. To do the strategy I discussed earlier in this review, you need to see all of their backlinks, which only the professional version shows.

The professional version also lets you track the rankings of unlimited websites (including your competitors’) and it gives you more accurate keyword difficulty readings. If you are serious about SEO, the free version isn’t enough. You need the professional version.

Conclusion: Traffic Travis Will Revolutionize Your SEO Strategy

If you want to take your SEO to the next level, I highly recommend Traffic Travis Professional. Here is what you get when you buy it:

  • A backlink analyzer tool.
  • An onsite SEO audit tool.
  • An advanced keyword competition analyzer tool.
  • The ability to track the rankings for unlimited websites.
  • BONUS PPC keyword analyzer tool. (See what PPC keywords your competitors are targeting!)
  • Plus lots of other awesome features.

I don’t think that you can go wrong! Click on the link below and get started today!

Looking Big Time On a Small Time Budget- Part II- Are You Virtual Corporation Material?

This week we will assess strengths and weaknesses to determine if you wish to continue. this is for your eyes only so be very candid with yourself!

Take this self-test to help you determine where your strengths lie, and which areas you need to work on in preparing yourself to run a virtual corporation.

To get you in the mood for an assessment, take a few minutes and watch the entertaining Zig Ziglar in this video:

Thank you, Zig. Now reader, are you ready?

Remember, to be honest with your answers! Once you find out what you need to work on, you can take steps to instill the work habits you need to succeed in the virtual world.

Answer each question with Yes, No, or Maybe. Skip any questions that do not apply to you and your situation.

• Do you love your current job? And if so, do you plan to start your virtual corporation in the same area you currently work in?

• If you could only work in one industry for the rest of your life, would you choose the one you’re planning to start your corporation in?

• Are you able to talk fluently about what you do (or are planning to do) for hours on end? Can you do it without boring the person you’re talking to?

• Can you picture yourself enjoying your job while you run your virtual corporation—maybe even for the first time in your life?

• Do you generally follow through on your ideas for hobbies or projects you’d like to accomplish?

• Are you usually able to finish things like housework, tasks at the office and school projects with your children, even when you don’t feel like doing them?

• Is the reason you want to run a virtual corporation important to you? How about to your family?

• Do you want what you hope to gain by working for yourself enough to stick with it through days you end up working twelve or fourteen hours straight?

• Are you able to reply with a guilt-free “no” when asked to perform a favor or task you know you won’t be able to get to in a reasonable amount of time?

• Do people generally consider you stubborn? Do you refuse to let go of the idea of having something you want (within reason) until you get it?

• Are you likely to (or have you ever) haggle with a seller at a flea market or garage sale on the price of an item you want if you consider it unreasonably high?

• Remember the old Klondike Bar commercials, where ordinary people were asked to do crazy things in exchange for a chocolate-covered ice cream bar? Imagine the prize is your successful corporation. What would you do for your Klondike Bar—is it more than what you’d do to get anything else?

• When you’re in the middle of working on something, are you able to resist playing computer solitaire or checking your e-mail every few minutes?

• Do you usually concentrate on the task at hand until it’s finished?

• Are there a lot of things in your life, such as exercising regularly or quitting smoking, that you’ve accomplished by making a plan and following through?

• Can you pass up fun invitations from friends and family when you have unfinished business to attend to and have to get it done?

• If you hit an empty car in a parking lot, would you try to find the owner and tell them what happened?

• Do you own up to your mistakes (or, at least, most of them)?

• When you take on a project or task, do you consider it “yours”—even if it doesn’t work out the way you intended it to?

• Are you a firm believer in the value of insurance, whether it’s a policy from an insurance company to protect your ass(ets) or a written contract for an agreement between two parties (even friends and family)?

Your results: Look at your ratio of yes to no answers in each section. If you have more “yes” and “maybe” than “no” in a section, consider this area one of your strengths.

If your “no” entries are the majority, these are the characteristics you should concentrate on developing. Remember, practice makes perfect!

Now that you’re passionate, motivated, determined, self-disciplined, and personally responsible, next week we can  review what characteristics your home office needs in the recipe for virtual success.

See you then!

4 Ways to Get Website Traffic Without Tons of Cash

Getting more traffic to your website without spending a lot of money is what any business on the internet strives towards and we will cover the basics. which will be followed by a more focused look at other ways to get traffic to your site in subsequent articles.

We can take a more focused look at other ways to get traffic to your site in subsequent articles.

Unknown to many there are a few ways of attracting visitors to your site that do not require risking a lot of cash. But consider the fact it’s not that simple and takes more work on your part.
So, if you prefer to work to get traffic to your website, instead of paying for it, then here are a few  ways to accomplish that:

1. Submit to article directories is perhaps one of the most valuable ways of driving traffic to your website.

By writing and submitting articles with a theme associated to your website, you are almost guaranteed of getting traffic to your website for an extended period of time.

As long as your articles stay in the directories that you submit to, people can find it and the odds of receiving traffic to your website is substantial.

Here are a few directories you can check out:

2. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a procedure that you apply on your website pages to rank higher in the search engines.

Search engine optimization is not hard to learn and there are several software applications that do a good job of SEO.

Search engines first look at your meta tags to determine what your site is about. Here are a few key factors when preparing meta tags:

As you continue to read this article, pay special attention to how parts 1 and 2 relate to one another.

a) Your domain name should have your keyword in it.

b) Title tag for each page of your site should include your keyword.

c) Your keyword should be in the first paragraph of your page.

d) The image alt tags should include your keyword.

e) The directory and file names of each page of your site should also have your keyword.

There are several good SEO programs out there but a quick review of prices will usually turn away the novice with monthly charges of $150-$200 USD per month.

To my good fortune, however, I ran across a program that has a limited use FREE program (2 projects vs. unlimited, etc.) that is just great for learning how SEO works: Traffic Travis

3.Create a blog that links back to your website.

Blog Posts at Blogger.com are readily indexed by Google and other search engines. By updating your blog, you are feeding the search engines. and each time you put new content out, the search engines will spot it and the spiders will come.

Putting your keywords in the content of your pages will help you rank higher in the search engines.

By placing a link in your blog back to your site the search engines will follow the link and your site will get indexed and updated more often.

Blogging is painless and it adds a lot of your web pages to the search engine index that and without these pages you will not be found on a keyword search,

There are several places to get unlimited blog accounts started with some that are hosted free such as Blogger.com, Another popular blog application is WordPress.com that is hosted on your website.

For a complete blogging platform however. every serious blogger should check out the features of the Kalatu blogging platform. It is a platform created by marketers for marketers and stands head and shoulders above the rest. Check it out!

4. Posting in forums relevant to your theme will give you the opportunity to place your links, to your products and services in the signature line, so you will get visitors from the forum members and search engine, that follow your link.

Of course, each forum has its own niche. So plan accordingly.

Make sure the signatures you publish in forums are memorable to magnetize readers and make them click on your related link and come to your website.

These 4 marketing tactics are simple and cheaper ways of getting visitors to your website. By implementing the above strategies on a regular basis would warrant a flow of traffic not only for the brief term but also for the long haul.

Remember that Consistency is the Key!

Here are six important tips from the IRS:

  • SE Income. Self-employment can include income you received for part-time work. This is in addition to income from your regular job.

  • Schedule C or C-EZ. You must file a Schedule C, Profit or Loss from Business, or Schedule C-EZ, Net Profit from Business, with your Form 1040. You may use Schedule C-EZ if you had expenses less than $5,000 and meet certain other conditions. See the form instructions to find out if you can use the form.

  • SE Tax. You may have to pay self-employment tax as well as income tax if you made a profit. Self-employment tax includes Social Security and Medicare taxes. Use Schedule SE, Self-Employment Tax, to figure the tax. If you owe this tax, attach the schedule to your federal tax return.

  • Estimated Tax. You may need to make estimated tax payments. Try IRS Direct Pay. People typically make these payments on income that is not subject to withholding. You usually pay estimated taxes in four annual installments. If you do not pay enough tax throughout the year, you may owe a penalty.

  • Allowable Deductions. You can deduct expenses you paid to run your business that are both ordinary and necessary. An ordinary expense is one that is common and accepted in your industry. A necessary expense is one that is helpful and proper for your trade or business.

  • When to Deduct. In most cases, you can deduct expenses in the same year you paid, or incurred them. However, you must ‘capitalize’ some costs. This means you can deduct part of the cost over a number of years.

Visit the Small Business and Self-Employed Tax Center on IRS.gov for all your federal tax needs. You can also get IRS tax forms on IRS.gov/forms anytime.

Work at Home after Retirement…Or Fade Away…

Ah, RETIREMENT! Isn’t that what you spent 40 years or more working toward? Finding your retirement pension check in your mailbox each month without having to work a single hour is what you’ve dreamed of. Now it’s here, and you are…well…BORED!

It takes about a month.

You’ll spend those first few weeks of your newfound freedom of retirement catching up on all kinds of “stuff.” But you will get all caught up, and then time will hang heavy on your hands.  retirement picture

And there is this…

An excerpt from the  WebMD archives:

“Early retirement is supposed to give you extra golden years to enjoy. But that may not happen, a new study suggests.

A study of Shell Oil employees shows that people who retire at age 55 and live to be at least 65 die sooner than people who retire at 65. After age 65, the early retirees have a 37% higher risk of death than counterparts that retired at 65.

That’s not all. People who retire at 55 are 89% more likely to die in the 10 years after retirement than those who retire at 65.”

You need to do SOMETHING to keep active! And, frankly, you’ve probably got more month than money. That happens no matter how well you plan for your retirement years.

The answer that many retirees have found is starting a work-at-home job or a work-at-home business. A work-at-home job or a work-at-home business doesn’t require anything more physical than you want to do.

You might start an online business building and selling birdhouses — but you LIKE to build birdhouses. You might start an online affiliate marketing business. In that case, the only physical requirement is the ability to type.

I know this works because I started an Affiliate marketing business and my typing is atrocious!

If you’re an expert in any given field, there are young people who are just starting in that field or who are still in school but taking courses related to that field that can benefit from your experience — and YOU can benefit by sharing your expertise.

Online tutoring is a large and growing Internet employment and business opportunity. You won’t have to learn anything new — you already KNOW all you need to know to successfully tutor students or entry-level employees in your field.

You have a wealth of knowledge that you’ve spent a lifetime acquiring. You have skills. You have time. That’s all you need to find an online job or start an online business!

A friend of mine retired a couple of years ago. She’d worked as an accountant for many years, and she was really looking forward to some “free time.” It took about a month before she’d had about all of the “free time” she could tolerate.

She needed something worthwhile to do. So she started her own online accounting business.

It was logical. Accounting was something that she knew and was comfortable doing. All she did was advertise a little, and the next thing she knew, she had more clients than she could handle alone; so she hired another retired accountant to help her. Since then, she’s hired two more retired accountants.

My point is that there are work-at-home business ideas. The best ones are in your own mind. YOU know what you like to do. YOU know in what fields you have the most experience.

If you want to bring in some additional cash and work with a community of like-minded entrepreneurs, join my Team Legacy at the Empower Network.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Empower You’ll find that the marketing platform that we have will fit any venture.

You’ll be more successful and you’ll be happier if you are working at something that you actually LIKE. And what’s not to like about Empower?

I wanted to get you started by adding a few ideas for home-based businesses:

Affiliate marketing: Affiliate marketing is one of the largest home business opportunities out there. You can choose to work in any niche that you like and where you have expertise. The idea of affiliate marketing is to sell products that relate to a specific topic for a percentage of the sale’s price.

Drop me a note if interested in this and I’ll forward you some no-cost information to get started.

Sell your arts and crafts on eBay: There is an enormous market for handmade goods. People love to give handmade items as gifts, but most people don’t have the time to make things themselves. Whatever craft you are good at, you can bet that there are people out there who will pay for your items.

Virtual Assistant Service: More and more businesses operate exclusively online today. There’s no physical business address. All of the employees work from their own homes and on their own computers. A virtual assistant does all of the same tasks that a “real world” secretary does.

More information is found on virtual assistants and other jobs in my article 6 Internet Jobs You Can Do Anywhere.

Think Big! Grow Rich! Can it Really Happen?

“Think & Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill isn’t new and yet it is still one of the most often referred to books when we are talking about becoming rich.

That’s because it’s been well documented that many successful people have found their blueprint to success within Hill’s book.

Hill has packed his book with many quotes, which are excellent food for thought. This is one of the many that rings true when you are looking to be successful at getting rich.

“Desire is the starting point of all achievement, not a hope, not a wish, but a keen pulsating desire which transcends everything.”     pablo (37)

This is an excellent quote, because it hits at the nerve of what it takes to become rich.

If you are only hoping and wishing that you’ll get rich and stop your day-to-day struggles and begin to enjoy the life you want, then you will be very disappointed. You need to take action and take steps to  change your thinking!

A year from now or ten years from now your life is likely to look much like it does today. Why has nothing changed? Because you simply did not have the desire to make it change.

If this is you and you are not willing to fuel the flames of desire, then just continue to play the Lottery. Even this requires you to take action. You gotta play to win!

                                                                                           burning flame

 Desire burns in you constantly.

It never goes out.

It never disappears.

There are all kinds of desires and the desire to be rich is certainly the focus for many.

When a person has the desire to grow rich it is on their mind all the time.

Here at Team Legacy, we treat ourselves to a video from the Empower Network’s Inner Circle each morning to regenerate that desire and fan the flames daily. These audios inspire the motivation and consciousness to focus on goals.

People who  have the desire to grow rich are constantly looking for what they can do to create an environment where they can make money.

The person with desire will be analyzing everything they do and see thinking about whether it’s a way to reach their goal of becoming rich.

Interestingly enough when you have the desire the message become planted into your subconscious mind and that becomes your focus. It becomes your drive and it becomes your reality. Suddenly you find that you have increased your earnings.

But have you created wealth?

Or are you still living from month to month. One thing is for certain – you must be your own boss and run your own business in order to create wealth, because as long as you are working for someone else they control your wealth.

Look for an opportunity, try it out for size to see if it is for you and take action! Sign up for the Empower Trial and make your decision after doing the “fast start” training!

So once you have made the big step to dream big and start your own business adventure you are truly on your way to creating wealth.

You now are completely in control of what your earnings look like. You are the driver behind the road to wealth. No more lottery!  😆
